The studio was a raging mess. It needed organized. It needed shelving. It still needs organizing. It probably needs more shelving. It definitely needs decorating. It needs new furniture. But, back to my point. I lack focus. (See?)
Here are the photos to prove it...
(Click on the photos to enlarge)
I never sold a photo I took, (unless you count when I worked at Olan Mills). I got to page 28 on the first journal and didn't fill out a single page in the second. I never invested online. I gave up on the silk screen, and t-shirt business idea. I never put The Monet Project on the wall. Those last two? Well...just... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Something happened in the studio that day. I was shamed. Shamed into action. I need to stop starting new projects. I need to start finishing old projects. So... I did!
(I've had this frame for two years! TWO YEARS!)
(Feather posted this idea back in October, and I said I was gonna do it. OCTOBER!)
(This one Dylan made. I saw the idea in a magazine
last week, and we made it this week! This is BIG people!)
(I thought the frog was cute, and
it is a TOY! I even followed the rules this week!)
(I like the one on the magazine better. The store I went to didn't have a black zipper, and I had a few other problems, but I did it! A FINISHED project!
Although the studio shame gave me the biggest kick in the pants, I would like to give Feather credit also. She got the creative juices flowing initially, with the Paint With Me challenge. How about you? Got some unfinished projects sitting around? Why don't you join in?

you are so cool. really, really cool. in all this time of blog-friendship, i've never heard you mention a studio. or that you have every material/tool available. how is that? why have you neglected your art for so long? tis a shame, my dear, for you have talent. i loved this post about finishing up projects...i made myself do this about a month ago. and, of course, now that i finished all the things i started, i don't want them anymore. they are sooo last year! i get you on the focus. completely.
You are so awesome! I love all the projects you finished up. Sometimes it's so hard to do art with our little ones, but so worth it. By the way you are not the only one who has a hard time keeping an art work space clean & tidy. I think it's the creative curse ;)
You are speaking my language lady! I have so many projects started and not finished it is horrible. In fact this week I've taken off work so I can work on some of my house projects. I still need to put door knobs back on after painting 5 (yes 5) years ago. So, I've been inspired here to keep going. Love all your projects you just finished!
i am so bad about this too. i start a ton of projects and kind of forget about them until my room is being swallowed alive by them. i love that you finished so many things. that is completely inspiring to me! and your frog is super cute, too. :)
Okay, I am one too. I have 3,000 projects waiting to be finished.
I love all the ones you finished:)
You GO girl! I love how determined you are to get at it! That frog is darn cute and the rock/stick name art - we are going to do that one.... if I can find MY focus :D hee hee!!!!
Ah focus...it would be nice to have that....what is that? Where was I? Hmmm..
Well, anyhow...those projects are awesome! I love the frog and I agree with Feather..I've never heard about "the studio" before...hmmmm....
First, I love that you have a studio. I am jealous. All of my stuff is jammed packed into my laundry room. Second, I can totally relate about finishing projects...i have thousands. i decided that if i can't finish something in about an hour, i lose interest...
i love your writing. you inspire me!
Baby steps, but you have to take the first step!
You are on creative fire!
What an encouragement (except I was still kind of hoping for the magic wand to sort it all out). The projects you followed through on are wonderful, some really great and fun ideas. Hope you enjoy your newly organized studio.
I cam over from Paint with Me Thursday.
