WHAT?!?

No, I don't have internet access yet at the new house. We don't even have a phone yet. THAT is a whole ugly post in itself full of rage and ranting about how Verizon sucks and their customer service is an insult to mankind. I am at Panera Bread. Now that is an establishment I can rave about - free internet access!!!

So, what's been going on? Well, where do I start? We moved HALF of our stuff last Saturday with the help of Jim's totally awesome cousins, (Chris and Tim, you're the best!!). I say HALF because we have so much CRAP that it is going to take a whole other day of moving at some point! I am convinced that the house has some kind of rare disease in which when crap is taken out of the house, more grows in its place.

On Wednesday, (4 days after moving into the bigger, much more expensive new house), I lost my job. Heh, yea, "lost it" - where the F did it go?!? My employer called me and told me that her in-laws came into town unexpectedly and "dropped a bombshell on them, that will require them to make many cutbacks, childcare included". Now, the irony of this is not lost on me. The last post I wrote, I said "I'm thinking I need to be off next week, too, because I don't want to miss this stuff". TA-DA!! You're off next week! And the week after! And, indefinitely! It's really funny! And by funny, I mean *^@#!$%$$$##*(#*@(#*$&$%*(@*(@!!!!!!, but you know, still...funny.

Oh! And it's my birthday on Tuesday! "Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, I'm the proud owner of 2 houses, but I have no money!" (Toot-Toot - me blowing my noisemakers)

I think I'll try to read a few of YOUR posts now. Maybe things are going well on your end?

man, I would love to know what in the world the in-laws said to them to make them do that. I am SO, SO SORRY about your job. I say sell all the crap left in the old house to supplement your income for awhile :) Things will get better, they kind of have to, right?

Sweet . . . on all accounts. Happy Birthday to you (on Tuesday!) Everything will fall into place one way or another.

Wow - the job thing sucks! I think it's kind of shitty for your boss to give you little piece of the story and leave you hanging. I think it would be a little nicer if she came to you with the whole story - the problem, what cuts, etc. But bosses suck sometimes.

Have a great birthday anyway!

oh shit, poor you, that is terrible timing! - you still manage to sound pretty chipper through it all though!

Happy birthday! (it was my birthday too!)

Oh Jen That sucks!

What would the in-laws say to them to make them end up firing you? I agree with 'the girls' mommy.' What a weird thing to happen.

If I was rich and lived closer, I'd hire you on the spot.

But I'm poor and live far away...so what was the point of that? Anyhow...you are having some rotten luck, but I'm sure it is all going to work out very soon. Hang in there.

I was going to ask how selling the old place was going, but I'll think I'll hold that question until later in the class.

I'm sorry to hear the Dream Job is no more. That sucks on many, many levels, and only some of them are financial. Things will fall into place at some point. But, hey! At least now you'll have time to move all that crap! What? That's not exciting? Oh. Sorry.

And because I know for a fact I'll forget to say it tomorrow . . .

HAAAAAAPY BIRTHDAY!

Bless your heart. Seriously, that is exactly what happened to us. We finished the house we built and got married moved into it and put my house on the market. Then I got laid off right after the Queen was born. We cheerfully borrowed money from both sets of grandparents. I do think it's pretty rude of your employer to let you go with no warning. Oh, well, that's the kind of thing that will come back to bite her on the butt.

Thanks to all of you, for your supportive comments. So far, I have no leads for a new job, and the old house situation is grim, so I'm in a bit of a depressed funk. But, your kind words always help!

Oh frick! That sucks... I'm so sorry! Hang in there... my motto is "money always shows up in mysterious ways"... there have been so many times we've been broke or in really tight times and we've always made it through somehow. Hang in there.

Hi Jen!

I am sorry I haven't been by and I'm sorry I missed your Birthday - Happy Belated Birthday! I'm also sorry you lost your job. I hope you are okay and you know I hope it works out.

Years ago - when Billy and I bought our first house - we sold our boat and everything we had to come up with the 10K downpayment we needed. We moved in on a Thursday and on Monday - Billy lost his job - REALLY! I was so scared - worried - frightened. But ... he went back to an old employer and they took him back and all was well. It worked out. I hope all works out for you guys and you sell your other house soon and get to enjoy your new house without any worries.

Take care and I'll see you soon - Kellan

The only thing comes close to sucking as bad as the job thing is the fact that you haven't been around in over a week. I miss you!

You very seriously deserve a night out after the torture of the move!

Oh man, just coming by for an overdue check and now I'm really bummed for you - what a downer, it was going so well too.

I'm wondering if they suddenly have to support the in laws for some reason, maybe they're moving in and looking after the kids?

Balls. Good luck getting online - and a new job will always come. Everything happens for a reason hon, I truly believe that.
