Too Busy Celebrating

I still plan to do one or two more bullying posts. A lot has been going on this past week. Some good, some bad, but the most important thing? My baby is FOUR! (sob) Of course, a "Dear Dylan" letter will be coming soon, and a post about his birthday party, but I've just been too busy enjoying the sweetness that is Dylan at age four. So far, it's been awesome.

So, I'll leave you with this picture of him on his last day of being three...

Fifth Week of Summer

Last week we spent a lot of time indoors, due to the unbearable heat!  We went to story time, Target, USA Baby to order bed rails for Dylan's "big boy bed", and Tanger Outlets to buy Dylan new shoes and water sandals.  The water sandals weren't new for very long, as we went straight to the new park we found with a stream and a waterfall.  Dylan scraped his knee, and fell in numerous times, but still managed to have a great time.  I didn't have my camera with me, so I have no pictures of that. : (

We also went to two 1st birthday parties (both were Dylan's second cousins).

These were my favorite moments from the week:

*Dylan putting his face right in front of Noah's, saying "Bye!  Bye!  Bye!... Why isn't he talking?"  "Well, he's only one.  He can't talk yet", we explained.  "But... he HAS a mouth!"

*  When he said, "Mommy, I'M your best friend.  "X" is your best LADY friend".

*  When we went to eat at Applebees, and he said "I don't want to eat where there's BEES!"

And my absolute favorite, which we got on video, and if this wasn't a public blog I would show you...

* Dylan practicing the YMCA dance naked, in front of the mirror, before his bath.

My favorite pictures from last week...

First Week of Summer

Yesterday, my parents took Dylan to their place from 10:30am-8pm.  What did Jim and I do with all that free time?  Jim planted three more trees and built one of the new dressers we got from Ikea.  I did two loads of laundry, and cleaned the living room, family room, hallway, Dylan's bedroom, Dylan's bathroom, and the master bathroom.  We really know how to let loose, and have a wild and crazy time, don't we?  (Sigh)  It did feel good to get some things done, though, and we were able to go out for dinner, which is always nice.

Every year around this time, the planning begins.  I love summer, and I feel the need to pack as much fun into the 12 weeks of summer as possible.  This first week of summer was a bit of a bust, due to all the rain, and the fact that Dylan has had a cold.  We did manage to play in the water table a bit, got new books at the library, got Dylan a much needed haircut, and went to Target to buy what will probably be the best $3 I will spend this summer.  Three dollars for hours of this...

...equals a good start to summer!

A Calvin Klein Underwear Shoot - Dylan Style

There is just something about a little boy in a t-shirt that makes my heart melt!

A Photo Shoot

Sometimes I get the urge to be a little artsy fartsy. I've been wanting to take some black & white photos of Dylan for a while now. Thanks to Jaime, for reminding me, and for the help.
