Fools Thoughts Are Scattered

*Sometimes you wonder how much a four year old is listening, and how much of an adults conversation they are actually "getting".  But, I figured it out, one day this week, when he said,  "Mommy's job is more ridiculous than Daddy's job!"

*I was putting cream on his legs, which have a lot of eczema on them right now.  I told him, "I really wish we could make this rash disappear!"  He answered, "Well, we could get a magician.  Are there any magicians around here we can call?"

*(The weather has been in the 30's in Pittsburgh this week).  Dylan and I were sitting at the kitchen table, looking out at the back yard.  There was a whole bunch of birds that we watched fly around and around and around in circles.  They all seemed irritated and confused.  I had this thought... When birds fly south for the winter, do they always come back at the same time every year?  They must be really ticked off this time.  "We cut our Florida trip short, for THIS?!"

*I woke up to snow on the ground, and in the sky, this morning.  HaHaHa...Very funny, Mother Nature.
April Fools!

*When I was in high school, I had to take a typing class (on actual typewriters - imagine that!)  One of my best friends was in the class with me, and we sat with our desks facing each other.  The instructor would give us timed typing drills.  Almost every time he would yell "STOP!", you would hear "click, click, click, clickety click..".  "WHO WAS THAT?!", the poor man would scream, a vein in his head bulging.  My friend would sit there, innocently looking around the room as if to try and guess who it had been, and I would have to bite my tongue to keep from laughing at her.  Poor thing just could not type to save her life.  I loved that class, and actually enjoyed the timed drills.  So, when I found this link , I enjoyed reliving my youth.  Each time the drill ended, I imagined I heard, "click, click, clickety click".  I discovered I can type 50-60 words a minute, with pretty good accuracy.  Anyone want to hire me?

*If you ever wondered how fast (or slow) you read, you can also go here.
And, you were wondering what you were going to do this weekend?

Things I've Learned This Week

( I apologize for posting fluff on September 11th, but if you are like me, you need a little light and fluffy on this day).

1. If I go into a public restroom in which everything is motion sensor activated, I will inevitably...
a. Get my bum sprayed with water when the darn thing flushes before I'm done.
b. Say "Damn it!" out loud, instead of in my head, which is what I meant to do, causing people in other stalls to laugh.
c. Put my hand under the soap dispenser. Wonder what is wrong with it. Move my hand, and squirt soap all over the counter.
d. Wave my hands under the faucet several times before I get the water to actually hit my hands.
e. Wave my hands under the paper towel dispenser several times. Nothing comes out. Remark to the lady behind me that the
thing isn't working. Watch as the next sheet comes out the minute she puts her hands under it.
f. Leave the bathroom feeling like an idiot.

2. Two hours of ME time goes remarkably fast. There is a definite difference in ME time and regular time, and I need to have a word with the man in charge about that.

3. Waiting until you are 2 years behind on your kid's digital scrapbooks and also managing to time it during PMS, looking at pictures like these...

is a very bad idea.

4. Taking a week off (which for me is only 2 days) makes your week a heck of a lot more fun, but your bank balance a heck of a lot sadder.

You Can Call Me...

Okay, well there is a lot going on this week, which I will be blogging about soon. For now, though, I stole this fun game, so I don't have to think much. If anyone wants to steal it from me, go ahead, but let me know, so I can read yours.

The Name Game

1. Your rock star name (first pet, current car): Snowball Elantra (I think I would go by Snow, since Snowball doesn't exactly roll off the tongue)

2. Your gangsta name (fave ice cream flavour, favourite type of shoe): Mint Chocolate Chip Sandals (I would go by M.C.C. Sandals)

3. Your Native American name (favourite colour, favourite animal): Blue Horse (But, I think their names usually have a verb or adjective in there, so I would be Drumming Blue Horse, or Sarcastic Blue Horse)

4. Your soap opera name (middle name, city where you were born): Lynne Greensburg, (that doesn't sound nearly bitchy or dramatic enough for a soap opera star)

5. Your Star Wars name (the first 3 letters of your last name, first 2 of your first name): Kasje (Hmmm. Let me try this.. "Kasje, I am your father". Yea, I like it)

6. Superhero name (2nd favourite colour, favourite drink): Green Raspberry Tea (That's dumb. What's my superpower? Watch out, or I'll be sweet all over ya!)

7. NASCAR name (the first names of your grandfathers): Kenneth Al (would look good on a trophy)

8. Stripper name (the name of your favourite perfume/cologne/scent, favourite candy): I could not figure out what my favorite candy is - but Drakkar Milk Dud, (I would definately be a Dud), and Musky Jelly Bean, (they'd probably call me Musky Jelly Belly instead) made me laugh.

10. TV weather anchor name (your 5th grade teacher’s last name, a major city that starts with the same letter): Young Yemen, (I can hear it now, "Young, when is the weather going to get warm around here? What are you doing to us? Har har)

11. Spy name (your favourite season/holiday, flower): Summer Pansy (HA! Well, I think I'll star in Alias-The Movie with that winner)

12. Cartoon name: (favourite fruit, article of clothing you’re wearing right now): Cherry Slippers (but those 4 name cartoons are a hit, so I'd be Sponge Jen Cherry Slippers)

13. Hippie name (What you ate for breakfast, your favourite tree): Honey Nut Cheerios Palm (sound granola girl enough to me)

If You Were A Fly On Our Wall

-(Dylan was making dinner...LOUD)

Me: I can't stand dinner time! He turns into a raving lunatic? He's like a...like a...
Jim: Gremlin you fed after midnight?

-(Jim was explaining how his boss sent out an email, asking people to please not leave their dirty dishes in the sink.)

Jim: I hope X told her it wasn't me, because she already knows, err, I mean thinks I'm a slob.
Me: Busted!! (I am always telling him he is a slob, and he is always denying it)

- (Jim and I were sitting on the couch, after Dylan went to bed. Jim was working on his laptop, and I was watching Oprah's Big Give. A group of contestants opened their package to see what their task was this week, and there was a skateboard inside.)

Me: Wow! That is a SWEEEEET board! I want it!
Jim: (Looking at me with a mix of slight amusement/ slight astonishment) What did you just say?!
Me: (Realizing I sound like an idiot, but unwilling to let it show) I said that board is sweet. I want one.
Jim: You want one?!
Me: Yea, I wanna be a skate rat...and a drummer.
Jim: (After a pause) Are you having a mid-life crisis?
Me: (Laughing, then growing serious) Yes, yes, I think I am.
Jim: Just don't come home with a Corvette, okay?
Me: Okay. (I don't even like Corvette's, but that board was SWEEET)
